Women's Issues
Treating Menstrual Issues, Fertility, Perimenopausal & Menopausal Symptoms with Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture
Are you suffering from menstrual or perimenopausal symptoms that are affecting your quality of life? Are you dealing with fertility issues? If so, then please reach out to ask me whether Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture can help you.
Women’s issues, including fertility challenges, menstrual issues as well as perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms, are very well treated by Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture. From the Chinese perspective, menstruation should be smooth, easy and pain-free and moving into menopause should be the same. Fertility issues can often be overcome using Chinese medicine and acupuncture either primarily or as adjuncts to western medical interventions. There are many women suffering who could be leading more comfortable, healthy lives of improved vitality if they got the right treatment.
The Chinese approach to treating women’s issues is sophisticated, safe and effective. In my treatments, I use herbs and formulas (combinations of herbs that work synergistically) that have a very long history of safe usage. The effects of these herbs is deeply understood, and when used with skill, are precision instruments for the eradication of both root causes and symptoms.
Here is a partial list of symptoms that I regularly treat:
· Excessive menstrual bleeding
· Irregular periods
· Dysmenorrhea or painful periods
· Amenorrhea or absent periods
· Abdominal cramping and pain
· Mood swings around menstruation
· Breast pain and tenderness with menses
· Hot flashes with perimenopause
· Vaginal dryness with menopause
· Infertility
As always, the key to successful treatment with Chinese medicine is through careful analysis of your symptoms to find which patterns are manifesting. For example, if your menses have gotten lighter and lighter or disappeared altogether, then I know that we need to strengthen your blood. If you are experiencing pain and excessive clotting of your menstrual blood, then circulation is an issue and needs to be addressed. If you get loose stools with your period, then we need to strengthen digestion.
The essential point is that I will analyse your condition holistically, as a defining characteristic of Chinese medicine is that we always look at everything that’s going on in body and mind as an integrated whole. Anything that’s out of balance in one part of your body will eventually cause dysfunction elsewhere. For example, if your digestion is weak, your ability to digest and absorb nutrients will be impacted, and eventually the health of your blood and menses will be affected. Or your immune response will suffer when you lose blood during menstruation. This is the beauty of Chinese medicine – it has a nuanced and sophisticated understanding and appreciation for the interconnectedness of all aspects of your body and mind. To be truly healthy means to be in balance.
So, please consider reaching out if you are suffering from symptoms related to your menstrual cycle, perimenopause or menopause. Or if you are having trouble getting pregnant. These are all issues which very often respond well to the tools of Chinese medicine such as acupuncture, herbal medicine and Chinese medical nutrition. Many women are suffering when they don’t need to be.
Also, rest assured that I only use herbs of the highest quality, lab-tested and organic whenever possible, and I only use the highest quality acupuncture needles, to ensure you a completely painless and comfortable treatment.
